Curiosity like a child

While listening to my Calm app, the narrator suggested I have the curiosity of a child.  I paused for a moment and thought, what does that really mean?  How can I go back to acting as though I have no knowledge about things. Then this happened:

I was pulling my granddaughter around the block in her little red wagon.  I found myself pointing out various things to her.  "Lily, look at those ducks!  One, Two...two ducks!  What do ducks say?  Quack Quack".  Then as our walk continued..."Lily look at those flowers.  See they are purple,  Can you say purple?  Ohh...where some pretty pink ones too.  do you see the pink flowers?  Look at those petals, aren't they pretty?

Realizing I walk these paths every day and never notice these things for myself, it suddenly hit me........ahhhh this is curiosity of a child.  I was actually walking through my neighborhood and noticing the ducks, purple flowers and delicate pink flowers.  In order to point them out to Lily, I had to really see them myself, noticing enough detail to describe these new things to Lily, who has never seen real ducks, or touched small flowers.  THIS is curiosity like a child!  What if I noticed things like this every time I walk vs just when I'm walking with my granddaughter.  Namaste!
