Mind Body Connection

 So What is Integrative Medicine?

I've heard people try to describe this new field of practice in many ways but perhaps the most accurate description can be found on the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching website, which states:

Integrative Medicine is an approach to healthcare that focuses on treating the whole person not just the disease.  Being healthy does not solely mean the absence of being sick.  Being healthy is a choice we make every day.

Integrative Medicine considers the whole body - mind - lifestyle and paying attention to personal health goals and values.

Integrative Medicine engages evidence based therapies from both conventional & complementary medicine and addressed prevention and intervention.

Our patients and clients decide whats most important to them based on their personal vision and values and then together we assess these revelations and allow our client to choose what to focus on first.  There are a few more steps we take together prior to goal setting and action that help our patients have the best possible outcomes because the process was driven by their own motivations.  Anytime the patient can drive the process based on their own personal values and feelings of what's important to them, we see not just better outcomes but the most long lasting outcomes as well.
